I hope to see you guys again. Saw you last year at the Cleveland market. I went home and ordered 3 of your CD's. I play them all the time. One of them has the absolute extended drum piece I've ever heard. I crank it up to the max and jump around like a crazy person to it!! Love it!
Just ordered your 4th CD now and can't wait til your new one comes out. Hoping to see you at Yungaburra Folk Festival if I can convince my husband to let me go for my birthday! And I check your website to read what you say so keep writing.

Thanks,
Charlene

Dear Rene and Rodger,

My name is Frank Monaghan, from Derry City, Ireland. Since seeing you guys play back in January or February at Eumundi Markets, Sunshine Coast, myself and my girlfriend Sharne have become huge fans of your music. I bought your latest album 'Indigo' and listen to it all the time (Im listening to it as I write this!). You very kindly signed the CD sleeve, which may have led to frustration since everyone else that had bought your albums then also wanted theirs signed! Sorry if this delayed your set a bit!

I'm writing to you because I remember Rodger - after hearing my broad Irish accent - mentioned that you guys played the Galway Festival a few years back, and I was just wondering, if you are going to Europe next year, whether you are going to play Galway Festival again, or anywhere else in Ireland or UK?

I'm back living in Ireland now, but my girlfriend, who lives in the Gold Coast, will be coming here for our summer and we will be going to Galway for the festival, and if we could see you guys perform live again, it would
certainly be the highlight of our trip.
Your music is so inspirational, and when I listen to your album, I'm reminded of my year down under, the experience of a lifetime! No other music can invoke such memories, that only a traveller that has experienced different cultures first hand can understand! Im sure you guys can relate to this!

Please write back, and I hope to see you again in the future
Your Biggest Irish fan,
Frank (Proinsias)

ps, keep up the good work and I hope the kids are being good for you!!

Dear Rene, my name is Robyn Tidd and my husband Russ & I met you & Rodger at Darwin in August at the markets where you were performing. We love your music and bought all 4 of your CD's. One of your CD's had sold out and you very kindly sent it to us here at Boyne Island. Thank you for that. I thought you said you were to perform in Mackay in October? Is this right or am I mistaken. We would love to watch you perform again as we love your music and play it all the time. Thanks for a lovely night in Darwin for us to remember.

bye for now Robyn.

Hi,
your CD's arrived last week.
Thanks a lot for your personal writings, my mother was so so happy. She and we also enjoy your last CD's very much.

But let me tell you one thing about what happened in between. Now we don't know how you liked Steve Irvin but here in Germany he was very popular and many many people are feeling very sad about his sudden death. Also my parents were visiting the Australian Zoo when they were at Australia. Here in Germany we were watching "the Crocodile Hunter" every Sunday afternoon (and also the repetitions).
If you also liked him and his crazy and hyper active mind let me tell you that we are all with you and his family in our hearts.

And again to you and your music, let me tell you greetings of my parents, they don't speak English, but they begged me to tell you to go on with your fantastic music.
Greetings from Germany

Hi Rene and Rodger>

I am still on a HIGH!! after listening and watching you
last year at the Yungaburra Folk Fest. The town hall was fairly thumping and the gig you did at the pub was just awesome. The Whole building and everybody in it were just?, I don't know how to describe it. Suffice to say it was extraordinarily WILD. Just as well it was a timber building. I don't think a concrete building would have stood up! Since I first saw and HEARD you in Darwin at the Mindil markets, now more than a couple of years ago, I have been an avid fan of yours.
The next trip I did to Darwin I had my wife with me, she was also awed with your sound. Your mix of sound is just: I will say it again, awesome!!
Time does fly.
I wish you were a bit closer to Cairns thou so we could see you a bit more often.
Are you coming up again this year?? I will try to get down to the bottom end of Queensland soon and maybe catch you in Eumundi or whever!. In the meantime we will just have to be satisfied with your CD's. Any new ones in the pipe line.
Best regards from us here in North Queensland

Dear Rene, dear Rodger,

I have just ordered your latest CD “Indigo”. I was in Australia in 2003 and met you at the Mindil Beach Sunset Market in Darwin (see also in the guest book) where I also bought your 3 CDs and talked to you, Rene. Even though three years have passed since then, I still listen to your unique music which still has an enormous power on me. There is so much harmony between you. It energizes me, brings me back to myself, helps to relax and refill
my batteries. I hope you will continue with your music. And I hope that one day I can see/hear you again live.

Where are you currently based? Do you think you will come to Europe one day to give a live-act?

All the best for you and your 3 kids,

Hello there

just a quick note to say that we have had your CD's on in the house and car for most of the winter here in the UK. We live just outside Bristol. As I scrape the ice of the car first thing (minus 5 this morning) and drive to work its really good to listen to your music and remember back to last August when we were travelling around Australia with our two children. We saw you in Darwin again (twice) at the Mindil market. We had previously seen you two years before and had to buy your first two CD's. Your music made our first visit and travels around the Top End so memorable and part of our experiences - it was the reason we came back last summer to visit Darwin again. This time we bought your last 2 CD's Red Earth and Indigo and carried on the experience! Thanks for signing them. We will be back again.
Thanks.

Hi Rene and Roger,

Just wanted to say how much my husband, daughter and I loved your style of
music and all your performances during the Tamworth Country Music Festival
2006.

I, myself, dislike country music and usually leave town. However, because
of work commitments, I was unable to do so this year. My Husband, who is on
compo at the moment, managed to wander down town and informed me that I
MUST get myself down to see a magnificent band called "Jabaru" ! ! ! !

After much persuasion, I did go down town and believe it or not, you
weren't there ! ! !

I got conned the next day and what I saw was absolutely amazing. I can't believe that I haven't heard of you guys and too my amazement it was ME that was wanting to go down the next day and the day after....

I was disappointed that you didn't win the buskers award, but third was still good. I was even more disappointed that you weren't playing on the Sunday morning - last day of the festival as I planned on buying all of your cds. I will now have to do it on line.

You guys are absolutely brilliant and I hope you continue to come back each and every year to the country music festival. Thanks for making me see that Tamworth Country Music isn't all that bad, that they do attract different and unusual acts like yourselves.

Keep up the good work!!

Cheers

Robyn

Dear Rene,

Hi there, a quick note to say how interesting and enjoyable I found your performance last Saturday at the Eumundi markets. I was quite transfixed by the groove you both got going and I do like your voice very much. I wish you the very best with all your musical and arts endeavours. I also think you should submit your latest album to the ARIA Awards because in my opinion you deserve a gong in the 'World' music category. I also think you should be able to sell bucket loads of CD's offshore.

Best wishes to you both. Luv

I've got all 4 of your albums ... "Zyan" WAS my favourite. NOW it's "Indigo". This album has, indeed, taken Jabaru to another level. So rich ... sensual, primal, pulsing. Superb recording -- all instruments/vocals beautifully defined/balanced. Totally love Alan Kelly's vocals on Yama. The whole album resonates and ignites my spirituality.I also love the cover artwork & photos.

Well done, Jabaru.

I live in Airlie Beach and I recently joined in the festivities of the Reef

I just have to say, it was such a great change to have such a fantastic
group like Jabaru in our town. Your music is out of this world, I am glad I had the privilege of hearing wat great sounds u can make.

The music u play as a group reminded me so much of my time in Byron Bay. It
made me feel @ ease with myself and relaxed, i enjoyed sipping on my drink
listening to the music I imagine will be playing when I go to heaven.

Well done on such an accomplishment and keep up the good work.

Hi Renee, Rodger and Kids.

I was in Darwin on the weekend on a quick call-out service
and had a few hours to spare before flying out again. It was late on Sunday evening on the way to the airport to"waste a few hours", as I drove my hire car along the Mindilbeach road, and low and behold, I heard a familiar "sound" of "Music". I had to pull over and investigate.
Your distinctive sound is recognizable any-where.
Sadly it was late and it was pack up time by the time I found you. The last time I saw you play live was in Darwin two years ago with Carmel (my wife) in tow as a "trade assistant". Wow time flies!
My wife and I enjoy your music and we have all your cd's, and now your latest!
Each album is unique and as always Awesome! I spoke with you and you informed me of your upcoming participation in the Folkfest in Yungaburra Far North Queensland in October. We have now lived here in the far north for many years and have never been to the festival. Knowing you will be playing has encouraged me to get a group of like minded together for a WEEKEND of Fun. We are both looking forward to seeing you "Live" again.

It is a Must and on my calendar.

Our Regards

Dear Rene,
About a year to year and a half ago we saw you at Eumundi, and were so
moved by your music we bought the Zyan CD Then a few months later we saw you at Brisbane Riverside Markets. Between songs I introduced my son Dylan (your biggest fan). You were kind enough to dedicate his favourite song to him, give him a hug, let us take a pic of you two together and sign an autograph for him.
We then saw you again in Feb. 2005 and you remembered Dylan which meant the world to him. He blushed and was so pleased and proud. Of course we bought your latest cd and adore it! lol

Thanks for adding the human touch it means so much to many...

How are you and the rest of Jabaru? Hope you're all well :-)
I had to write to you after just listening to your album, Zyan. It is
excellent!

While I was in Darwin in June 2004 I often watched and listened to your
music at Mindil Beach market. Me and my friends would stand and nearly end
up being under hypnosis through your music. It is so uplifting yet relaxing

I was so impressed I bought your whole CD collection there and then :-)

Now back home home in England and I often listen to your music. It takes me

Hi Rene & Rodger

I was unaware of your tour of Darwin and was at the Parap Markets on
Saturday with my friend. I was lured and enchanted by your music and very
spiritually connected by it as was my friend. We spent quite a bit of time
just listening to you both. Your children are beautiful as children should
be and what a wonderful thing you are doing by having them with you on
tour. I envy you your lifestyle! Could I come and travel with you and be
your nanny?? (Just joking!)
For some reason or other JABARU keeps coming back to me and your first Cd
is one I have looked at many times but have never bought. Obviously it
wasn't the right time and now it has all come together, the name, seeing
you, the music and now I will have all your Cds.
You both obviously enjoy what you are doing so keep up the beautiful music,
the lifestyle, and loving those children the way you do.
One day would love to meet you and did once live at the Sunshine Coast many
years ago. I am a true Queenslander just enjoying another part of our
country while I can.

Will keep in touch

We were visiting Australia form England at Easter this year and stumbled
across you in Eumundi market. We loved the music you were playing and
bought one of your CDs which we played as we toured around - and is still in my car now!
Our 2 boys love your baby gurgling at the end of the CD! Inspired, we even
bought a didge which we carried all aound Australia with us and back home.
We can get the right sound from it but can't sustain it for very long.
Went on your website to find out how to order your other CDs and saw from
your news that Indigo has been born! - so just thought we would send our
congratulations to you all. We are hoping that one day you will come over >to England to perform (you mentioned you played in Oxfordshire once, which is where we live) - so we can come along and watch. Will keep a lookout on your
website.

Dear Jabaru,

we started our tour through the top end of Australia at 16th of May 2004
with your concert at Mindil Beach in Darwin. What a start! You gave us a
lot of energy with your wonderful music. It was a magical moment,
especially with that congenial dancer (you might remember) and we'll

our tour to Broome and back to Darwin again, giving us a good spirit for
the road. We enjoyed them very much and we'd like to thank you for this.
You bring so much joy to all the people, that listen to your concerts
and CDs!
Now we're back in Germany, still listening to your music. I'll check our

I hope everything went well with your newborn child!! Is it a boy or a

Subject: Jabaru not accepted into Woodford Folf Festival
Date: Fri 24 Oct 2003,

G'day,
For months I have enjoyed the street performers 'Jabaru' in Darwin at theMindil beach sunset markets... They play awesome music and besides that, you can see that they really enjoy making music... I have spoken with several people in the audience and they all agreed that Jabaru is a band you have to see and enjoy.

Unfortunately, I understood that the application of Jabaru to play at the Woodford Folk Festival has been denied.... That's really sad news for the people who get there to listen to the performers. In my opinion a festival as the Woodford Folk is a good opportunity for everybody to listen to several performers. Without Jabaru the festival is incomplete.....Hopefully you can change your mind and invite them to play on the festival. You will be surprised and definately not be disappointed.

Regards,
John Busch The Netherlands.....

Greetings from Arctic Adelaide!
I first heard you play over a a year ago down at Glenelg and was blown away. Since then I have been singing your praises to all that will listen. Just came back from 3mths living in Darwin and was surprised and delighted to hear you playing at Mindil. Your music created the perfect ambience for the markets and was truly inspirational. Have enjoyed the last three months going to the markets (and Ski club) to hear you play. Ain't nothing like sitting on Mindil beach watching the sunset, eating some fine foods and hearing your rhythms drifting over the hill. Hasn't been the same since you left.
Anyway, really hoping you come by this way after WA -- I'd love to hear you again and get the one cd I don't have and bring my buddies along for a musical treat! How about Womadelaide!?
Happy travels --

Hi Jabau,
My name is Debbie Paini, my husband and I first saw you perform at the Mindle Markets in Darwin.(the night of the power Blackouts !!!) I felt so connected to your fantastic music. I tried to buy your CDs the next day in every music shop in Darwin. Luckily someone told us you were performing at the Parap Markets Saturday morning. I arrived in time for another great performance and bought all three CDs and a tee-shirt. Your CDs drove us safely home all the way to Kojonup, a very pretty town in the south west of Western Australia. I have played your music to so many people and all are inspired and just love it. Our daughter Shae is 21 and a gifted healer, is also hooked. We feel this spiritual connection and whenever I'm feeling down and missing the road I play your music. Back at work this week, so your CDs have helped !!!!
However I have just checked your tour dates and noticed that you are heading down our way. Would you consider coming to Kojonup to play ? We have recently opened an award-winning Aboriginal Interpretive Centre called "Kodja Place."
Kojonup, home to the local Noongar people for thousands of years where they led Europeans (Wadjelas) to its central feature - a freshwater permanent spring in 1837.Wadjelas settled and Noongars retreated, losing much of their culture. But now in 2003 both groups have come together to share their history in the creation of an award-winning place.
At the heart of this story lies the recognition of the Noongar role in Kojonup history. And the land itself with springs and its special places, a re-discovery of its ecological and spiritual messages for both Noongars and Wadjelas.Website www.kodjaplace.net.au This is no boring museum !!! It is just hands on and so good. We know its special - we have been everywhere else !!!!! I think you would also enjoy the Rose Maze (the story of three women - Noongar,English and Italian growing together) and the parks and garden surrounds of Kodja Place.
Thanks again for your fantastic music and look forward to hearing from you.We do hope you can visit us and enjoy our rural hospitality and friendship.
Cheers Debbie

Hi Rene, hi Rodger,

I just wanted to tell you that I'm enjoying all your 3 CDs very much back home in Austria now. I heard your performance on June 5th at the Mindil
Beach
Sunset Market in Darwin which was just great! I really, really enjoyed myself
there. And when I listened to your music, I couldn't move on to see the
market stalls. I was kind of caught with your rythms. When I came back to
the market on the Sunday after my Kakadu-Tour, it was unfortunately too late.
You had already finished. But I exchanged a few words with you, Rene, I don't know if you remember.

I just wanted to wish you all the best for the future. And let me know if
you ever come to Austria (it is a very beautiful country!)

All the best,
Claudia

Hey Jabaru,
I have your Khanu CD in the player right now, listening to the rhythm and
hanging on the flow of the beat. I was totally mezmerized by your
performance at the Mindil Beach Sunset Market on July 10th. That was my
only night in Darwin, having camped in Kakadu. You made the evening most
memorable. I can't wait till some of the songs you played there come out on
CD. I'm now a huge long distance fan. Keep making those sounds, they
summed up the great energy I recieved during my visit to Australia.

I caught your performance at Hobart's Salamanca Market on 12 April 2003.
Blown away by your energy and talent. We are treated to some of Australia's best market buskers and performers here - but you have certainly caught our attention. The rhythms and musical images of colour and light that you create - just awesome. Please make sure you come back.

Regards
Gerald Englebretsen, Hobart.
